Begur’s Indian heritage
A must-see in Begur is visiting its many Indian-style houses, built by locals from Begur who emigrated to the Americas during the 19th century. These colourful and beautiful residences capture the exotic essence of the Caribbean.
To discover these architectural gems, there is nothing better than strolling through the town’s streets. It is highly recommended to stop by the Town Hall, Can Sora and Can Pi, and to delve deeper into history by visiting the exhibition at the Interpretation Centre of the Indians of Catalonia.
In honour of this legacy, Begur celebrates its famous Begur Indians Fair every year on the first weekend of September. This vibrant event offers a unique experience with colourful decorations, period costume parades, music and cultural activities. It is a one-of-a-kind celebration that captivates both locals and visitors alike.
Restaurants and atmosphere in Begur
The centre of Begur is full of life. You will find a wide variety of fashion shops, boutiques, handcrafted items and local products. Some remain open until 9 or 10 p.m. In addition, there are numerous bars and restaurants where you can enjoy a drink with spectacular views or savour the exquisite cuisine of the Empordà paired with a fine DO wine.
Restaurants in Begur stand out for their traditional Catalan cuisine, with dishes such as paellas made with Pals rice, suquets featuring rockfish, aged meats and creations using local produce such as Girona apples.
Located in the town centre, two restaurants with a carefully crafted culinary proposal are Diferent and Restaurant CARBO. If you are looking for high-quality produce and stunning sea views, we recommend the restaurant at Hotel Aigua Blava and the restaurant at Hotel Sa Tuna.

Coves and beaches in Begur
The beaches and coves of Begur are among the most treasured gems of the Costa Brava, with beautiful spots of crystal-clear waters nestled between spectacular cliffs, rocks and pine trees. Along most of them, the Cami de Ronda follows the coastline and connects different sections, making access to many of these beaches easier.
One of the most famous beaches in Begur is Aiguablava, with turquoise waters and a stunning natural setting. With golden sand and surrounded by hills, Aiguablava is a sheltered cove offering a wide range of services and amenities.
Sa Tuna and Sa Riera, surrounded by old fishermen’s houses, offer a very Mediterranean postcard image. With crystal-clear waters and rich marine life, these coves are havens of tranquillity. From Sa Tuna, following the Cami de Ronda, you can reach S’Aixugador, a lesser-known cove with more restricted access, and Aigua Freda, a small cove with a jetty and flat rocks, ideal for sunbathing and boat trips.
Platja Fonda, unique in its kind, is a wild beach hidden between rocky walls and pine trees, with dark sand, at the foot of the majestic Cabo de Begur. Also known for its peaceful atmosphere and natural surroundings is Illa Roja, a nudist beach internationally recognised.

In our exclusive Spa located in the basement of the building is the old winery, transformed into an area of water and relaxation. It has a swimming pool with hydromassage, water games, hot marbles, a hammam (Turkish bath), and contrast showers with different water temperatures.
We also have relaxing and therapeutic massages available to clients that we can perform in the same SPA or in the SAME room if the client wishes.
For hotel guests the Spa is open from 11am to 9pm and is included in the room price. For an additional fee, the spa is available for private use for couples, for an hour, from 9pm. Children over 14 years old are welcome.

Our house is located in the center of Begur: near the Church, the Town Hall, surrounded by picturesque little shops, terraces and small charming restaurants.
From our terrace Chill-Out we have the best views of the Castle of Begur, which rises above the village whitewashed and mottled Mediterranean colors, wrapped in pine forests and holm oaks. Begur is surrounded by coves that range from emerald to turquoise, seen from small fishing villages, rocks and sand.
